Treatment
Medication, Counseling and Privacy
MAT combines FDA-approved medications like methadone with counseling and behavioral therapies to provide a comprehensive approach to treating opioid use disorder.
Methadone is a long-acting opioid agonist that has been used for over 50 years to treat opioid addiction. It activates the same receptors in the brain that opioids do, but in a controlled, medically supervised way that reduces withdrawal symptoms and cravings without producing a euphoric high.
Oxycodone and OxyContin, hydrocodone and hydromorphone, heroin, Vicodin, morphine, and fentanyl. If you or someone you love is struggling with any of these, call us and we will talk it through with you.
Individual counseling, which is one-on-one work with a licensed counselor on your own goals and challenges, and group counseling, where you connect with others in recovery for peer support and relapse prevention. Counseling runs alongside your medication, not instead of it.
Yes. We offer guest dosing for people already enrolled in a treatment program, whether elsewhere in Colorado or visiting the area. Ask your home clinic to call us at 720-756-7162 to arrange it, and bring a valid photo ID, your home clinic's contact information and your dosing schedule.
Your information is treated with the utmost confidentiality and is protected by federal and state regulations. Records that identify you as a patient of an Opioid Treatment Program carry extra protection under federal law, 42 CFR Part 2, which is stronger than standard HIPAA protection. The law does require disclosure in a small number of defined situations, and our Patient Rights page lists every one of them.
